Welcome To Luminous

At Luminous, we have a heart for walking with those who are hurting in our world. We hope to offer some sense of relief from current circumstances and symptoms by providing a safe space to explore the inner workings of your life in the company of another.

Our role in our client's healing process is rooted in the belief that healing comes through connection. A therapeutic relationship that is built on trust and focused on attuned communication is the foundation for gaining new insights and fostering a space where taking risks seem possible.

Hi, I'm Brandon

MA, NCC, LPC, SAT-P

I'm a counselor serving individuals, couples, and families in the Kansas City area. I received my Masters of Arts in Counseling in marriage couples, and family from MidAmerica Nazarene University.

My top priority is to build and maintain a therapeutic relationship that establishes an environment where clients feel cared for, respected, and understood. I am passionate about this as I too have had many people come alongside me in the midst of trials, struggles, and loss. It was through these relationships that I was able to find my greatest moments of healing and steps toward growth.

A bit about my personal life: I am married to my beautiful wife Tessa. In my spare time I enjoy bouldering, snowboarding, and playing board games.

Specializations

I specialize in Marriage, Couples, and Families, but I also have a wide range of experience with individual clients. I am currently working on becoming certified as a sexual addictions treatment provider. I have experience working with clients who are struggling with relational distress (Couples and Families) Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss, Trauma, Teen and Parenting Issues, Spiritual issues, and Anger.

Faith Incorporation

Faith is a topic of importance for many of my clients. Faith represents something different for everyone. It is important that my clients know that faith can be as much or as little a part of the counseling process as they would like.

Anyone and Everyone

I believe everyone can benefit from counseling.

Whether it is internal/external pressures, beliefs about the self, or slow subtle implicit messages throughout life. While we all vary in our experiences, we can all benefit from being in a relationship in which we are heard moment by moment while considering the needs that we all have as humans to be comforted, accepted, and protected.
